In his age group of 40-44, the field was strong that he didn’t make the cut for the Match Sprints. His Flying 200m time trial just like all other Los Angeles and San Diego sprinters and champions were perfect but was not fast enough for the competition. That meant they were not able to compete in the Match Sprints. Arden placed 21st out of the 28 competitors with a new personal best of 12.5 seconds for an outdoor track.
The next day, he was signed in to team up with Jim Rouche and Eric Manuel for the Team Sprint. If you remember Eric, Bob Hansing and State Champion, and also Arden’s teammate during last July’s Team Sprints at SCNCA State Track Championships that was held in San Diego. Jim on the other hand is a strong Omnium competitor and also from South Bay Wheelmen. Unfortunately, they placed 8th despite their strong ride.
Despite the strong competition, he is very fortunate to be able to compete in this event with the help of the ADOBO Velo members. He is very thankful for the support he received.
